CSM baseball wins playoff opener
May 04, 2013, 05:00 AM Daily Journal Staff Report
The Bulldogs opened a playoff series on the road for the first time in years but didn’t let that affect them in a 13-6 win over No. 8 seed Cabrillo.

The No. 9 Bulldogs return Saturday with a chance to close out the best-of-three series.

CSM (23-14) scored 13 runs on 14 hits, led by Trevin Craig, who was 3 for 6 with four RBIs. Kailen Robinson and Dane Vande guchte each drove in a pair of runs.

CSM starter Zac Grotz picked up the win with eight innings of three-run ball, scattering six hits in the process.

CSM scored in seven of the game’s nine innings.
