Festival of Colors
Second Annual Celebration of Holi, the Festival of Colors, brings food vendors, traditional Indian music and dance and the throwing of powder colors to Leo J. Ryan Park Meadow in Foster City from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Free.

If you suspect insect damage, try to include some of the insects so they can be correctly identified. The event takes place 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Kohl Pumphouse in San Mateo Central Park. Fun in the sun
First day of spring flag football and soccer league. Practice and games take place on Sundays. Organized programs for girls and boys ages 3 to 14. No try-outs or fundraisers. History of fiber and cloth production
From Sheep to Shawl: A History of Fiber and Cloth Production. Textile expert Penny Hassett explores how various fibers and tools have been used around the world to create cloth. This lecture coincides with the Museum's current exhibit, "From Fiber to Fabric: A History of American Textile Production." The lecture takes place 2 p.m. Sunday at the Museum of American Heritage, 351 Homer Ave. in Palo Alto. Free for museum members and $10 for non-members. www.moah.org.
