Burglary interrupted at home in White Oaks neighborhood in San Carlos, suspect at large

Sheriff's deputies are searching for a burglary suspect who ran from a home in San Carlos' White Oaks neighborhood after assaulting the homeowner who interrupted the crime at approximately 11:20 a.m. Wednesday.

The suspect, last seen running from the home in the 100 block of Oakview Drive, is described as a skinny Hispanic man in his 20s standing about 5 feet 5 inches tall with short, dark hair.

He was wearing a black sweatshirt and black pants, and was heading in the direction of Alameda de las Pulgas, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The homeowner sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for evaluation, according to the Sheriff's Office.
