Regional government

• San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District, which provides a transit system through 26 cities, is accepting applications for the Environmental Justice and Title VI Advisory Committee. The committee’s objective is to: ensure that BART takes responsible steps to incorporate Environmental Justice and Title VI policy principles in its transportation decision-making process; provide input on the most effective methods to engage and respond to Environmental Justice and Title VI populations; and ensure meaningful involvement in BART’s transportation decision-making process by promoting collaboration and problem solving on issues related to Environmental Justice and Title VI.

The committee meets every other month. Members should be able to attend 50 percent of meetings annually. For more information call (510) 874-7333 or email officeofcivilrights@bart.gov.
