Fallen tree on El Camino in San Mateo
December 05, 2012, 05:00 AM

Traffic on El Camino Real was snarled after a very large tree fell onto the road just south of Central Park in San Mateo between Fifth and Ninth avenues at about 4:39 p.m. yesterday.

There was some property damage and one person reported a minor injury. Crews arrived on scene to remove several pieces of the tree blocking the northbound lanes. Cleanup was completed by 6 p.m., according to police.

Daily Journal Quick Poll

The city of San Mateo is moving toward hiring a private company to remove graffiti in the city faster. Do you think it's a good idea?

If it means it will be removed faster, I'm all for it
No, the city should have its own workers remove it
Some of the graffiti is artistic, they should leave it alone
